Two arrested for possession of marijuana, camouflage kits

Yes­ter­day, dur­ing an an­ti-crime ex­er­cise in San­ta Cruz, mem­bers of the Trinidad and To­ba­go Po­lice Ser­vice ar­rest­ed two peo­ple sep­a­rate­ly for the pos­ses­sion of over 30 grams of mar­i­jua­na and cam­ou­flage kits.

The Trinidad and To­ba­go Po­lice Ser­vice has re­leased the fol­low­ing me­dia re­lease on the in­ci­dents:

A man and a woman have been ar­rest­ed for be­ing in pos­ses­sion of mar­i­jua­na in two sep­a­rate in­ci­dents in San­ta Cruz.

Be­tween 10 pm on Wednes­day 14th Ju­ly and 2 am on Thurs­day 15th Ju­ly, 2021, an an­ti-crime ex­er­cise was con­duct­ed in San­ta Cruz.

Dur­ing the ex­er­cise, po­lice found 132 grammes of mar­i­jua­na at the home of a 35- year-old woman of Spice Hill, Pi­p­i­ol Road, Up­per San­ta Cruz.

Trinidad and To­ba­go De­fence Force cam­ou­flage kits were al­so found at the home of the woman.

The woman in­di­cat­ed that the kits be­longed to the fa­ther of her child, who is a serv­ing mem­ber of the Trinidad and To­ba­go De­fence Force, how­ev­er, he re­cent­ly moved out of the home.

In a sep­a­rate in­ci­dent, of­fi­cers al­so ar­rest­ed a 32-year-old man of Black­ford Street, Can­taro Vil­lage, Up­per San­ta Cruz, for be­ing in pos­ses­sion of a quan­ti­ty of mar­i­jua­na

Ad­di­tion­al­ly, po­lice found and seized 17 ful­ly grown mar­i­jua­na trees, with an es­ti­mat­ed street val­ue of $20,000, in a bushy area off Con­rad Street, Can­taro Vil­lage Up­per San­ta Cruz

The ex­er­cise was spear­head­ed by Snr Supt Win­ston Ma­haraj, ASP Pa­ri­man, co­or­di­nat­ed by In­sp Bharath, su­per­vised by Sgt Nel­son, Sgt Mitchell and in­clud­ed mem­bers of the NED Gang and In­tel­li­gence Unit, NED Task Force, Spe­cial In­tel­li­gence Unit and Ca­nine Unit
